Who You Are:

TWC is seeking a creative and experienced Data Analyst III-IV to join its Data Visualizations team in the Division of Information Innovation and Insight (I|3). This team supports TWC’s mission to improve decision-making and service efficiency through data. As a data analyst, you’ll play a key role in developing innovative data visualizations and conducting analyses to enhance TWC’s services for Texans.

Responsibilities:

Consult with internal and external customers to identify business needs for data visualizations and reports.
Analyze data using Oracle SQL, Tableau Desktop, and Excel to develop, optimize, and maintain data visualizations.
Compile and query data from the Oracle Enterprise Data Warehouse.
Analyze patterns and trends in data and assess its quality.
Create and present reports on data findings and provide recommendations.
Lead or assist in the development and implementation of data quality standards and measures.
Respond to support tickets related to Tableau and server maintenance.
Ensure accessibility of data visualizations in compliance with federal and state standards.
Collaborate in a team environment to solve problems and implement solutions.
Support the development of data analytics systems and improve data quality.

Qualifications:

Data Analyst III:

High school diploma or equivalent, plus two years of full-time experience in data analysis or related work.
Alternatively, one year as a Data Analyst II can qualify.

Data Analyst IV:

High school diploma or equivalent, plus three years of full-time experience in data analysis or related work.
Alternatively, one year as a Data Analyst III can qualify.

Education:

Coursework in data science, business analytics, computer science, or related fields can substitute for experience (30 semester hours = one year of experience).

Preferred Skills:

Experience with Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.
Strong background in data analysis, including using Oracle SQL Developer.
Ability to present findings and conduct workshops or demonstrations.
Understanding of data models, database design, and data mining.
Experience handling confidential data and ensuring its security.
Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility standards for data products.
